Switch off the jump starter and remove the cables from the battery. Leave it running and return to the engine compartment. Turn the key in the ignition as you normally would and start the car. Make sure the jump starter is sitting in a spot that it will not fall. Locate the power switch on the front of the jump starter pack. Attach the black, or negative, cable from the jump starter to the negative terminal. This one has a large - embossed in the battery next to it. Locate the negative terminal on the battery. Attach the red, or positive, cable from the jump starter to the positive side of your battery. There will be a large + embossed on the battery next to the terminal. Locate the positive battery terminal on the battery. If it is not under the hood, you will need to consult your dealer for specific location information. Open the hood of your car and locate the battery. It must be charged before use, and you can carry it in the trunk of your car for use as needed. ![]() The pack has a positive and a negative cable attached to it with large clamps on the ends for attaching to the battery of your car. ![]() ![]() The jump starter pack is basically a portable, rechargeable car battery in a box. Using a Duralast jump start pack to start your car when the battery is dead offers convenience and is much quicker than waiting for the auto club to arrive if you are stranded.
